Disposable ‘fast’ fashion is costing us all more than we think. The fashion industry is the third biggest consumer of water in the entire world. Every five minutes a breathtaking 10,000 items of clothing are sent to landfill. Not reused. Not recycled. Landfill. We think that all this has to change, so we’re introducing TORE - TOtally REcycled socks. We’ve created a range of socks, such as this triple pack of SOCKSHOP TORE 100% Recycled Placement Stripe Cotton Socks, that are completely made from waste materials. That’s every fibre, every thread and every strand rescued and reused, sorted and spun into yarn in our certified factories, using non-harmful dyes to colour it, and turned into these soft, fine gauge, cotton blend men’s socks. Each triple pack of TORE socks you buy (held by fully recycled cardboard packaging - we thought of that too) means that 2.4 water bottles and 0.6 t-shirts have been diverted away from landfill, making durable, comfortable socks with production methods that help save an incredible two years’ worth of drinking water.
